i have 2 busy seasons.. april-mid jun jul-aug (the School kids summer breaks) i work for the military i am on shore duty so i spend alot of my time at work or doing secutiry gate watches or security rover watches.. and we are short on security watches for my command so they stick us on double shifts.. which blows.. but its ok.. i work 12+ hours a day.. and every 3 weekends i stand a duty weekend.. meaning i have to stand 12-16 hour watches both saturday and sundays..
my main job is a PERSONAL PROPERTY Councilor... i tell me what they can and cant do with the House hold goods that the military will pay to have shipped to there next duty station..
I HATE CUSTOMER SERVICE JOBS I HAVE REALIZED WITH NO OFFENCE... THAT AMERICANS ARE THE STUPIDEST AND THE LAZIES PEOPLE IN THE WORLD... AND IM AMERICAN AND IM SAYING THIS...
all americans want the easy way.
to lazy to do the leg work. lol

HeHe, Bird. Not only Americans want the easy money for doing nothing. I think it is the same all over the world. There always are some who work hard and a lot who don´t like working.
But your opinion irritates me... In Germany we think Americans work very hard for their money and Japanese, too. Americans and Japanese have the least free days and least vacatian days in the world.

MM3 (e-4) dont wnat to go any higher.. lookig for the 30K if i stay a e-4 after 8 years of cervice
i have served 5 years on the Uss Kitty Hawk (aircraft carrier) i started working in a engineering plant then got switched to the hydraulic field running the stearing gears, anchors, aircraft elevators.. (enginering maintanence stuff) i cuncure with king.. being underway is long hours and no time off.. underway and in port.. work started at 0630 and being a engineer you dont get off work till about 1800 (6pm) or later. i did 5 years of that. and now im on shore duty and the work hours are just the same.. between my main job work hours and my Aux Security Force Hours. i work alot lol i hate both shore and sea duty.. i got about 12 months left and then im done wiht the military.. the military in japan isnt the amican military.. the ratio out here is 90% Philipinos 5% black people 3% white people 2% others and out of that 90% philipinos less than 1/2 are actually americans.. so yeah the military i serve isnt the americna military its the IMMIGRANT military lol serve 6 years and get us citizenship no problem lol yeah im tired of taking orders from people i cant understand what they are saying.. (and its english)

I was in the US Army Infantry for a few years. No combat... I was in school during Desert Storm. I was out of service before Afganistan and the second Iraq victory.
I actually liked most of it. If I hadn't gotten married I might have stayed for the long haul.
Its an interesting life for a single fellow. You can jump from planes, fire automatic rifles and 20MM canons, and handle explosives. You are trusted to operate and pridefully care for millions of dollars of state-of-the-art combat vehicles.
Most of the "work" is training for combat. You practice individual skills and unit tactics and other specialized training continuously.
Service and support jobs might not be as rewarding as combat arms but they are just a bit less risky during wartime operations. It might also be better, all things considered, as an officer.
Officer pay is still bad compared to college grads in the public sector. But comraderie, pride in your work, and full pay and benefits at retirement after 30 years makes up for it. You can be set for life at about age 52.
If I had no kids or wife I would go back.. I would drop everything and go back tomorrow.
The Army is a good start for young men finding their path in this world. Its a good life worth living if you are mentally tough and crave adventure.
In the civilian world what compares to pegging fifteen rounds of High Explosive 20MM into the hull of a scrapped tank? Maybe a thrill ride at Disney World.. and you have to pay for that!!
